people have been bugging me to blogg about the sports fest '05 that had just passed this monday 110405.
buckle cheerleaders came over to my house at about 8.15am to make up and do our hair (not as if I have much to do) Carmen slept over the previous night as we had late practice on sunday from 2pm-8.30pm WHOA. that was super tiring. had a spliting headache after practice, must have been the sun. To side track a bit, I am so disgusted by what I saw and heard on Sunday afternoon. Jieying and jean agreed to help the balestier sec. people choreograph their dance and to teach them some stunts. They had guys on the cheerleading team so I expected that they were stronger and could do more dangerous stunts. In the end, nope, they were collapsing whilst basing the girls on a pyramid. I had to help them base as they claimed that a guy was M.I.A. gosh. when the girls climbed up, their hands started to give way lah!! sheeesh. and this middle guy who looked like a pig kept spurting vulgaries from his mouth. Non-stop k. How uncultured!! I was utterly shocked by his behavious especially when we were all in public?! gross.
ok, I'll continue about sports fest. those with long hair took about 1 hr just to gel up their hair? and i took ermmm 20mins? ohmannn.. gatsby hair gel and good looks hair spray is super super strong. spray a bit and your hair will be cemented on the spot. After that put on make up and stuff before the rest curled their hair. I think jieying should open her own hair styling shop, she did rachel's hair really nicely. FUNKY. Changed into cheer costume and called for the taxi. I shall commend comfortfor their good services. i called to hire 3 cabs, next thing I knew the first cab was at my house already. In my rush I forgot to bring my camera, how smart. Charged it for nothing. sighh. Reached tp stadium and realized that all the houses wree there except for buckle. we always have to make a glam entrance, i wonder why.
saw the other houses' makeup. waddle's explosive hair, tarbet's read chicken feathers on their head, richard's big star hair accessory and hadley's phantom of the opera mask. I think buckle's was the plainest, just curls that's all. hmmmm... Don't know whether this will be counted into our scores or not.
Had march past prac, real march past and ate pizza for lunch. I think we're the first batch of cheerleaders one would see eating fatty pizza just before the competition. The sec ones' mass dance was very very nice. Well done sec ones! Theirs are much nicer than ours lah! the crocodile rock thing?? And this year, they danced to "absolutely everybody" buckle did great! :):) Then the track meet started, not many buckleans ran. Germz came in 7th instead of the 8th she did during the heats. --pokes-- SEE! You can do it!!! We were cheering together with the buckleans during impromptu chaga, boogie (they liked it when we threw the pom-poms) and that's the way (well, this was really impromptu) shouted till my voice went hoarse.
And here comes the depressing part. Just before we were preparing touch-ups in makeup and hair styles it started to pour really heavily. I was so down in the dumps k. sat at the top of the spectators stand packing up my pompoms. Just felt like breaking down in tears. Practiced so hard for this day to come and in the end not perform in the track?? I think I was too exhausted at that time... hmmms. then all of a sudden when all hopes were lost to perform on that day, the richardson cheerleaders asked us to go down. I thought they wanted to discuss cheerleading dinner but instead they were yelling "we're gonna perform ok?" next thing I knew, tarbet was on the track ready to go. Miraculously, the rain stopped COMPLETELY. like WAO. suddenly tears just welled up and I was crying lah! don't know for what, but after that I felt so energized and ready to dance my heart out!
went after waddle. track was wet. skirt was soggy. we did our best. could feel the sense of accomplishment. we did it. buckle cheerleading squad 2005!!!!
