hey guys. I AM NOT A PONNER!! I'm really really sick!! Got up this morning with a terrible sore throat, couldn't hear anything in my left ear and my nose was running like a tap! If you were sitting somewhere near me yesterday, you would have heard my sniffles and the trumpet I made out of blowing my nose! Not to forget victoria's never ending rantings about me sneezing into my worksheets and being a germ vector. hmmmm.
Why has it to be now? My body doesn't fail to breakdown just before exams. arghhh. EOIs are next week, really stressed out by lots of things. Math: functions, sets (dead), hisotry: Whole pile of notes on history of medicine (this one's partially done, did that in the morning) what else? Ohyes, my weakest subject: PHYSICS. goner. missed yesterday's remedial because of cooking. Heard that it wasn't of any use at all though. hmmm.. Talking about cooking, I shall blogg about it.
COOKING [the most interesting topic on the planet] Went to the kitchen a little late yesterday. Went down to the canteen to liven myself up with food, met athena and valtan there. Anyway, cooking lesson started at around 3.40pm? We were going to make choux (shoe) pastrey with durian custard and also tuna puffs! yum. Vic and I paired up with joo and sarhs as we had to share this super humungous mixer. COOL! hahaha! When you put the 4 of us together, well, you may expect something disastrous. Weird things that happened whilst baking the choux pastrey:::
1. The mixture REFUSED to puff up in the oven and decided to stay all slimy and soggy in there. FINE! but finally the stubborn thing started rising and turned slightly brown. hurray. Peeped over to the other benches and realized that ours were ermmmm... rather minute. hahahahah!
2. The custard was practically ALL FLOUR. doubled, quadrupled, and times 6 the portion needed to get the sticky texture. hahah! Then in went the durian! YUMYUM. Didn't hesitate to eat SOME of the durian directly from the plastic bag. Had 2 trays full of durian to eat! [kiasu vic and I brought 1 tray each of durian "meat"]
3. THE FINALE. putting the filling into the puff. hahah! This was extremely fun. I figured that it wouldn't be looking too nice by the time I brought it home, so as I -pretended- to put the fillings into the puff nicely, I popped one after another into my mouth. FAN-TABULOUS! though it tasted a little floury. hahaha! Imagine 200g full of flour into the custard :S:S probably all the eating of these heaty stuff caused me to have this terrible sore throat. darn...
Anyway, that was another interesting experience in the kitchen! Very stress-relieving for me. Livened up a bit, considering that I was almost half-dead, exhauted from blowing my nose in the classroom. thanks joo and sarhs for making the lesson so erm... hilarious. wahahahaha! SO FUN! I <3 cooking lessons!
Guess what? I just realized that I haven't blogged about the UNIFEM dinner we had on tuesday! two words: IT ROCKED. 305 totally ROCKED the whole event. Fellow guitarists vic and jiawen hahahah! thanks for withstanding all my nonsense and playing of the wrong chords :) Our pro-ded band, heidi (violin), kristine and jiayi (flute), eleanor laopo (cello) and Mayliau (the diploma pianist)... your playing really gave an impact to the song "If we hold on together" Really wished that the night didn't end, all of us 305ers standing there joined hand in hand singing our hearts out. I love this class. Haven't felt so bonded to a cless ever before.. thank you God for this great experience and opportunity to work with such a TERRIFIC class.. three-oh-five.
