*yawn* Just woke up from my looong beauty sleep. haha! yesterday was a super fun and tiring day.
Went for PSL convention at around 7.40am. Brought some SCGS girls around the school and after that went to the gym to report. hmmm.. Many schools were there, including Dunman High, Kuo Chuan, St Nicks, RI, SCGS, Victoria, Rivervalley and other schools that I can't remember. Had briefing by yishan and ignatius (SJI PSB head) that told us which groups we were in. I was with Alicia (AGAIN!!!) haha. Our facilitators were Yew Liang, Theodore and Shauna. yeeps. the first "activity" we had with our group was singing "At the beginning" with the chorus being in a jumpy mode. haha! i think the people from the other schools were kinda freaked out by us. Must be wondering... what kinda mad people are these? jumping everywhere.. hahahaa.
My groupname was er... platologan or something. We couldn't remember such a complicated name so we simply called ourselves the longans! Our first training session was quite amusing. We were given only one type of material together with some fake money. Supposed to go around trading materials with other people and build a tower. Height didn't matter, all we had to do was to give a meaning to the different parts of our tower. the LONGANS (being the creative one) did a human figurine instead with loads and loads of meaningful stuff on it. Ahhh! i wanna get a picture of it! darn! forgot to bring my camera! bleaahhh. Anyway, we rocked big time. When the SJI people came to try to topple our nice statue, it wouldn't budge! wheeeeeee! :D:D
Then station games! well, we learnt lots out of them even though they were so simple. Like cooperation when we played the water bomb volleyball game. haha!! that was amusing. bombs bursting even before it left the plastic bag. FUNNEH.. lots of games like water bomb captain's ball. mannn.. That really gives me an idea for games planning in future. hahahahah! nice fat bombs. ladedums. ohyes. From that game, I found out that i can't catch water bombs. hahaha!! Seriously can't catch those small slippery ones :):)
dumdeedums. then training session two. ehh. we had the same skit thingo like the one we had during PSLTC. yahh.. and they brought up the Shangri-la thing again. That was hilarious. i suspect that carmen chu was acting as me during the skit... always being bochap and pessimistic. HAHA. Surprise item wasn't very much of a surprise though. the SPSLs danced for us again! haha! and we were like going "go muddy, shake your body" hahhaha! funny!! and germaine did her body wave! woohoo! we were trying to teach her how to do it the other time against the wall!!! JIAYOUS!
Empty chairs session was really good. Quite emotional for some. It allowed people to quieten down and to reflect and share on things they have gone through as a Peer Support Leader. kaiqi, alicia, me and candice went up together to thank all our SPSLs who have guided us along these few months. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN! WE <3 YOU! Had secret message time where we got to write small messages to each other in the group. so sweeet. Our facils gave us cute pens. haha! Our group was quite quiet by then, I was feeling sad that convention was about to come to a close. ohmannn. Why couldn't it be longer? Like 2 days or something (like what our seniors had?) argh. sad sad.
And then came the fun-nest part of the day! SINGING SONGS!!! everyone was very very high singing all their hearts out!! oh, and I had to tip-toe when I stood next to this super guy. mannn.. Felt so short. boohoo!!! we jumped jumped jumped. and ran ran ran in our socks.... and fell fell fell. haha!! that ALWAYS happens. geeez.
Had to clean up after everything ended. scrapping of the candle wax.... as always.. sighsigh. Gave everyone hugs before they left.
priscilla. shantini. minhua. julia. fongyee. alicia. haqel. our facils: yew liang. theodore. shauna. Thanks for making this convention '05 such a memorable one.
