hello everyone! I'm finally back from the leadership camp! It rocked big time. Thanks all buckle comm-ers especially those who were in the same group as me. You've made my stay there more enjoyable and enriching. LOVE YOU GUYS!!! ohyes. Thanks to selene (my new laopo. haha!) and valtan (pea) both of you rocked! whee! I have gotten my tan. haha! I kinda lurve it. though it isn't that dark, i think i'll achieve my target to be a piece of charcoal by this Friday (Netball carnival!) yupps!
Let me name all those who were in my group. hmm:
Sabby, Yiwennie, Darinne(cheering squad), Natalie(Cheering squad), Lin Tong(CAD)Jieying(CAD), Cassie(CAD), Minori(CAD), Amelina(Mass Dance), Haslina(Mass dance), Suss(Mass dance), Alice(Sports Capt), YanHan(Sports Capt) and Germy(Sports capt). And also our dearest facilitator MRS. BALA! The nice one.. haha! she's super nice :)
I shall start from the first day...
Monday 1st November. We all assembled at the Labrador campsite at 7.30am. everyone seemed so unfamiliar with each other and people around were just so quiet. sigh. I just felt totally terrible. bleah. hmm. after lunch we headed down to the perimeter of the rope elements 'enclosure' after briefing and blah we started on our very first activity.... There was a swinging inclined log and we were supposed to cross it. By then the sky was really dark and it was going to rain. Yiwen and Darinne got to go up, but soon after, there was lightning and so everything had to be stopped. sigh. Anyway, went to the hall to have some indoor activities.
One of the indoor activities were that we had to make a human caterpillar with only 4 hands and legs. so in the end we did something that we did during the orientation '03. haha! went round, turned and twisted our butts. And then came Mr. Ong. sigh. he wanted us to go around the whole hall on our butts so that we could help to clean it in the process. DREAM ON. hah! after a while managed to go out to the elements. Did the challenge pole. Walao. the platform was so darn high lorh. so scary. the more I stood there, the scarier it became and the worst thing was that the wind was blowing and Mr. Ong was right below grinning up at me. argh. pig. jumped and had butterflies in my tummy. hahah! That was all the activities we managed to do that day. Not forgetting the 'training'(talk) at night. kinda boring, but somehow it gave me some time to reflect on what I have been doing this whole year. I realized that I wasn't making much of an effort in 'Family Committment". I feel really bad k. studies aren't everything. well, we did some things for the workplan -again- in preparation for the next night's intense discussion. yeah..... seems like the sports capts will be in charge of the House Orientation FOOD!!!! ahah!!! heehee! it was really fun. After that, went to slp. END OF DAY 1.
Tuesday 2 November. hmm. what happened ah? OHYA. woke up at 6am in the morning. had breakfast duty. erm after that we went straight into the rope elements. The weather was really fine. very sunny and bright. Well, I managed to do 2 intermediate rope elements and 1 high rope element. it was really FUN! haha! I'M AFRAID OF HEIGHTS. That's a confession I have to make. the whole rope was shaking like mad lah. haiz. then there was one which were only made up of 2 wires with 2 small planks in between :S that was one freaky thing. Mr, Tan was standing below and obviously I saw his face. sigh. started to laugh uncontrollably. HAHA! it was just so cool! Thank you guys for encouraging me whenever I needed it and great job to Alice -patpat- you did well up there. your determination overcame all fear!!! :)
hmm. By night time, we were all so shacked and dead. Mine and germ's eyes could barely open lah! hiya. Png came to talk to us and asked us to think of the two most pressing problems we faced and to come up with any solution that came to our mind. Suddenly, I realized that we had so many problems awaiting us in 2005 and wao, it was really tough to think of solutions to them. During the 2nd session of discussion in our sub-comms, we were definitely more focused on the problems. phew.
I'm so gonna kill the other houses' swim capts man (also my juniors and swim mates) sabo me. SEE LA! now have collate your votes for the swim carn events. -sticks tongue out- bleah. Must reply to my emails k? heehee! hiya. don't worry lah. I will get you all a little something next year ok?
Though it was the last nite at camp, we all slept like a log at night. except some who were frantically writing letters to group mates and friends. haha! (e.g. ME) yiwen and I decided to drop the idea of writing in the dark and to wake up at 5am the next morning to write. haha! We did wake up you know? haha!
Wednesday. closer to freedom. haha! did one rope element and had group meeting and de-brief. by then I was DEAD. really DEAD. sigh. slept during de-brief. SHHHHH... hahh! dummdeedums. and that was about the end of Leadership Camp 2004.
Feel so sad leaving there. sweet memories you know? met great friends too! Missing you guys already. nvm. we'll all be working together next year to bring BUCKLE to greater heights! jia you!!! haha!
